About Paula
Have you achieved success by all typical measures, but still sense something is missing?
I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL.
I'm Paula Doroff, Career and Life Strategist, Author and Speaker.
Growing up in Brazil in poverty, I was abandoned by my mother, never met my father and was raised by my illiterate grandmother. She did not think I would succeed in life … yet, even as a child I knew I was born for much more. Beginning at age 7, I knew I wanted to live in America, a place I heard you could make something of yourself.
To make my dream a reality, as a young girl and a young woman, I dreamed, planned, worked hard and persisted against all odds. At age 15, I ran away from home to create a new and better life.
I built my life here from the ground up. I climbed the corporate ladder, achieving the role of Vice President at Wall Street's top companies: Ameriprise, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and BlackRock, the world’s largest money management firm. I worked tirelessly to perform well and keep many balls in the air, living the "American Dream."
Yet, I grew increasingly restless and unfulfilled. I often felt like an imposter. Could I ever make something out of myself outside of the career that took me 20 years to build? Did I just get lucky? After much personal development work, with the support of great coaches, I felt an unshakable calling to use my gifts and experiences to serve others in a more meaningful way.
After months of consideration and careful planning, I quit my career on Wall Street. I created a new path for my life with a clear purpose to help others and have more time for myself and my family.
